Every major luau, island by island. Where it is, who it suits, and where to check dates.
A luau is one of the few Hawaii nights worth planning the rest of the trip around. The rule that matters most: book one on the island, and the side of the island, where you're sleeping. Then pick by what you want: the big fire show, a traditional Hawaiian evening, or a seated dinner you can walk to.

The most choice in the state. Most big shows are in Kapolei, about 40 minutes from Waikīkī, so the shuttle or a car is part of the price.

Oʻahu has the most choice, from big shows in Kapolei to a seated dinner show you can walk to in Waikīkī. Maui's Old Lahaina Luʻau is the best-known traditional luau. The best one for you is usually on the island and side of the island you're staying on, so you're not driving home in the dark.
Expect roughly $100 to $250 per adult depending on the show and package, before shuttles. On Oʻahu, Toa Luau starts around $105 and premium packages at the Kapolei shows run past $200. Check the live listing for your date, since prices change.
Yes for popular shows and peak dates. Some run only on certain nights (the Royal Hawaiian ʻAhaʻaina in Waikīkī is Mondays only), so check your dates before you plan the rest of the week.
We don't currently list a regular public luau on Molokaʻi or Lānaʻi. If a luau is a must, plan it for a night on Oʻahu, Maui, Kauaʻi or the Big Island.
